OSHA's New Global Harmonization & Hazard Communication Standard
OSHA requires all employers utilizing hazardous chemicals at their worksites to train their employees on the new Safety Data Sheets (SDS) by Dec. 1, 2013. The changes were enacted as part of OSHA&#8217s Global Harmonization Standard (GHS), which included a number of significant changes to its Hazard Communication Standard (HazCom 2012).
A webinar presented by Edwin G. Foulke Jr., the former head of OSHA, helps prepare employers to meet their obligations under GHS and HazCom 2012. You will get a detailed explanation of OSHA&#8217s changes to the standard and review the steps that your organization can take to meet its obligations under this new standard.
After viewing this webinar, you will learn:
  • The requirement of the new GHS and HazCom 2012 at a high level, with specific focus on the GHS changes and employer training obligations
  • How to understand and review the new Safety Data Sheets
  • OSHA&#8217s training expectations for meeting the December 1, 2013 deadline
  • Strategies for meeting all HazCom 2012 deadlines while maintaining compliance and avoiding the risk of potential OSHA citations and penalties
