Context
In every given period in our history, there comes an occasion when we, as humanity, as mankind, need to pause and ask ourselves "Are we on the right track? Where do we go from here?" and if we do not pay attention to that moment, if we ignore the inner voice within us that says "PAUSE, REFLECT and then "GO FORWARD' then we are sure to get caught in a web of our own making.

Today's life in an organisation is so hectic and so dynamic that often what we introduced yesterday is outdated today! You have only to look at the way the social media has intruded into everyday aspects of organizational life. In hiring, for instance, many of the conventional methods of sourcing of candidates do not seem anywhere as effective as a ‘Linked- In’ message. Given this reality, are we ready or are we prepared to use this to our advantage? Do we understand the pitfalls, do we understand the traps that we unwittingly can fall prey to? Given the tremendous influence & change that technology, processes and the culture of people have undergone, (are we not that much more impatient today than even ten years ago?), it is time to take a pause, it is time to reflect.

We have before us a cross-road of options. HR can continue to be traditional or it can change itself. We have the superb option of embracing technology as a partner and create cultural paradigms that bring forth the best results from people. It is time for us to take some pertinent decisions: "whither shall we go and, therefore, how should we prepare for the journey?”
