Modi clarifies on Bharti's 'bribe' remark!

New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Ram Vilas Paswan's Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) on Thursday formally announced the formation of an alliance in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.

Paswan met BJP president Rajnath Singh on Thursday and said they are a part of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA).

"The expansion of NDA has started..The LJP has started to be a part of the NDA....I am confident that LJP and we will benefit out of this alliance, not just in Bihar but the entire country," Singh told reporters.

He said Paswan will meet senior BJP leader LK Advani.

He said the LJP will contest on 7 Lok Sabha seats in Bihar.

Thanking Rajnath Singh over the issue of BJP-LJP alliance, Paswan said: "The LJP is a part of the NDA. Narendra Modiji has already been declared their prime ministerial candidate, so you do not need to ask me about that once again."

The LJP on Wednesday entered into an alliance with the BJP in Bihar.

Earlier, Paswan had said the Congress and the LJP are natural alliance partners.


On Jan 11, he had met Congress supremo Sonia Gandhi in New Delhi in order to discuss the issue of alliance in Bihar.

"Congress is our natural ally. We respect both Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi," Paswan told reporters.
