To Clamp or Not to Clamp - That is the Question
Ultrasonic clamp-on flow meters offer a cost-effective alternative to in-line wetted flow meters. They can be retrofitted into an existing process as fixed installations or used on a temporary basis for flow surveys or to check other flow meters. Further, they offer versatility and reliability that make them useful for measuring both liquid and gas flow in a variety of applications. This white paper from GE explains that as new designs for these meters improve on both performance and ease of use, they will continue to grow in acceptance as valuable tools for flow measurement. Click here to download the white paper >

Motors & Drives: Best Practices for Bearing Protection
Until all motors are designed with built-in bearing protection, plant maintenance personnel and motor repair shops will continue to replace damaged bearings. However, if a motor's bearing problem is fixed properly and appropriate mitigation is installed, it only needs to be done once. Further, informed technicians can utilize the latest diagnostic techniques to avoid electrical bearing damage from the start. This article discusses best practices for a brand new motor or one already in service. Read more >

Shredding Waste into Profits: Grinders Help Waste-to-Energy Facilities Stay Productive
Many facilities that process difficult liquid/solid combinations now rely upon dual-shafted grinders on the inlet side of pumps to ensure continuous flow and prevent blockages. These powerful shredders apply several tons of cutting force at peak loads, breaking down tough solids or rags and turning them into smaller particles that can flow easily through pipes and pumps. Using a reliable industrial grinder will help business owners shred waste into profits. Read more >
