All good things as also the bad things must come to an end, including good vis-à-vis bad economic times. A transition period is a unique because it represents a time of adjustment and uncertainty which has common forces of varying impacts on individual enterprises, societies, geographies and companies' strategies. There are no clear or universal 'must dos' in a period of transition, rather there are times when leaders make the changes that are necessary to get ahead for sustainable growth of their business. The transition from Recession-Recovery-Resurgence (3R) presents unique opportunities and challenges to all organizations in India. In a recovery to resurgence phase the answers are more complex. Executives face a decision of where to invest and trade to support recovering revenues rather than to continue on cost cuttings.
Under this backdrop, this conference will attempt to discuss the various opportunities, underscore challenges and prescribe strategies to be adopted, both at macro and micro levels, by all concern viz. government, society and individual companies at large while transitioning from recession to recovery to resurgence for achieving sustainable growth and development.
The book is relevant in this context. The objective is to provide an issues relating to Foreign Direct Investment, besides providing vital inputs for research. It would create an interface among policy makers, professionals, academicians, industrialists and experts in the field of industry, trade and commerce both from India and abroad.
