| Strategies in Biophotonics is a two-day conference and exhibition that will center on advancing the development and successful commercialization of optics and photonics technologies for the fast-growing biophotonics life sciences market. Papers will be selected by our Advisory Board on the basis of technical content, audience interest and industry relevance. Suggested subject areas and themes are listed below.
- Mobile Health
- Global Health
- Therapy, Diagnostics and/or Screening
- Oncology
- Opthamology Neuroscience
- Drug Development
Presentations at Strategies in Biophotonics will ideally address: • A specific NEED (or closely related set of NEEDS) in biomedical research or clinical discipline. - What is the unmet need? - Why is it important? - What technologies are being used currently to serve this area? - What are their limitations? • The OPPORTUNITY for optics and/or photonics to meet this need/these needs - How can optics/photonics address this need? - What value do optics/photonics offer that other technologies do not? • Key CHALLENGE(S) of commercializing a system for this market - Why doesn’t an optics/photonics-based system already exist to meet this need? - What, specifically, must happen in order for an optics/ photonics-based device or system to succeed in this area? • Logical NEXT STEPS for entry into the market - Should the idea be embodied in a new product or a new company
