I am happy to inform you that The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) India’s apex Chamber of Chambers serving over 96 years having over 400 regional chambers has been striving hard to bring desired reforms in Education sector is organizing its“8^th ASSOCHAM Education Summit & National Excellence Awards 2015”.

ASSOCHAM being the Member of MHRD Empowered Committees has undertaken many initiatives to bring reforms in education especially in the country’s need to improve the gross enrollment ratio in higher education, quality of education with employability and skill development. Undoubtedly, a lot has been done but a lot more needs to be done. In this context ASSOCHAM has been organizing number of seminars, conferences and workshops in association with Ministry of HRD, AIU including other Educational Bodies.

As a matter of fact, India’s higher education sector has witnessed an enormous growth in the past few years. Today, India has the largest number of institutions, second largest in terms of enrolment with largest higher education system in the world. But still country’s education system is gloomy & faces challenges on several fronts. The need of the hour is creation of an employable workforce to harness its demographic dividend. Hence it becomes paramount important to bring drastic reforms in the existing education system that can deliver quality in education to ready skilled workforce to meet the country’s needs and take the Indian economy’s growth to a higher trajectory.

Keeping in view the holistic and integrated approach taken by the Government in structuring the National Higher Education Policy 2015 with new steps and initiatives taken to strengthen quality in the existing institutions and universities, ASSOCHAM is, therefore, organizing One Day National Summit on Research & quality in Higher Educationfollowed by ASSOCHAM National Education Excellence Awards – 2015 on the 18^th April, 2015 (Saturday) at Hotel The Taj Mahal, Man Singh Road, New Delhi to felicitate those with National Education Excellence Awards who have taken initiatives and contributed significantly in improving the quality of education, innovation, research, growth and development.
