Introduction | Guidelines for Participation |
Over the years, organizations have been successfully practicing Kaizen for excellence. Organizations have realized that the basic imperatives to survive in today’s competitive environment need “Kaizen - Continuous Improvement”. Kaizen implies to all employees from the CEO to the assembly line workers of processes in manufacturing, engineering, supporting business processes and management. With this background CII Southern Region Manufacturing Sub-Committee started the initiative of Kaizen Competition in 2006 in order to create awareness of the Best Kaizen Practices in the Industry and make them known to all. The Kaizen Competition organised annually and it is open to member companies in the Southern Region. The “8th Edition of Kaizen Competition 2014” is scheduled on 9-10 October 2014at Chennai. Eligibility of Kaizens | |
· Kaizens which have enabled better production processes and results. · The Kaizen accomplished by operators. · The Kaizen must be classified as an “Idea” or “Corrective” Kaizen. · Kaizens can be from the shop floor, office area, scrap yard, stores, etc. | |
Who Should Participate? | |
CII Member Companies located in South India (Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Kerala and Pondicherry) are eligible to apply for the Competition. | |
Categories of Award | Winners Selection Process |
Top scorers from the following sectors will be awarded 1. Manufacturing / Process / Service (each 3 winners)
2. Sectoral Awards Apart from the above categories, Sectoral Awards viz automotive/auto components, chemical processing, construction, hospitality, banks, IT/ITES will also be recognized and number of winners will be selected based on the number of participants in the same sector. 3. Certificates Winners will receive the recognition/winning certificate and all the participants will receive a certificate of participation. | · Members to internally select and shortlist Kaizens for participating in CII’s competition. Selected Kaizens should be forwarded to CII on or before 30th September 2014. · A single page Kaizen (as per attached format) should be forwarded to CII on or before 30th September 2014 inPowerPoint format only to be used for Compendium. · Compendium of Kaizens in a CD form will be shared to the participants (1 CD per team). However, all the additional members and the delegates will get a copy of a CD. · Please note there is no restriction on the slides on stage presentation. Participants are request to carry the soft copy of the presentation to the venue and no need to send it to CII. · Each unit/division is allowed to enroll max 3 kaizen teams. · Each team can consist of 3 members. · Each Kaizen will be given totally 8 minutes - 5 minutes for presentation and 3 minutes for questions & answer with jury members. · CII’s jury members will select the winners for award and recognition. The decision of the juries in selection of winners will be final. |

· Members are requested to use the attached registration form or Click here to download the Team Registration Form to confirm their participation · Participation fee to be forwarded to CII on or before 30thSeptember 2014. · Prior registration & payment of participation fee is a must · Registration fee is non-refundable · The programme is non-residential · CII encourages participation of Women Employees for the Competition | To learn, practice and motivate employees, the participating companies can nominate their employees to the Competition as delegates. Delegate fee: · Member : Rs. 2809 per delegate · Non-member : Rs. 3371 per delegate |
