6th Doctoral Conference

Department of Electrical Engineering, National Institute of Technology Kurukshetra is organising a Short Term Course on Economic Operation of Power Systems with MATLAB and GAMS from July 6-10, 2015.

This course has been designed to familiarize the researchers and engineers working in the field of power systems operation with the core concepts of economic dispatch, unit commitment, optimal power flow, and load frequency control. The course emphasizes a lot on programming these problems using MATLAB and GAMS software. Besides, the course will also acquaint the participants with recent research problems generated due to restructuring of electricity industry, integration of renewable sources at large scale, emergence of microgrids and large scale deployment of demand side resources. In addition, an introduction to economic operational aspect of Indian power sector and the unique Availability based Tariff is also included in the course itinerary. The course will benefit participants from academics, R&D institutions, professional engineers from utilities, and research scholars at masters and PhD programs.

Interested candidates will be sent a link for online registration form through email, which they can fill until 22.06.2015. The selected candidates will be intimated through email/mobile latest by 26.06.2015.

The course fee for participants from R & D /Industry is Rs. 2500/- and participant from academia and institutions is Rs. 1500/-. The full-time Ph.D. students from recognized institutions can also participate in the program and the fee is Rs. 500/- per participant. Seats available are limited.
