‘Misinterpretation of Quran is the root cause of terror’
Misterinterpretation of the Quran in madrassas is the main case of terrorism, said members of the foreign ministry of Saudi Arabia, who were in the city on Thursday for a conference organized by the National Institute of Jihad Against Atrocities and Terrorism. The Saudi speakers emphasized upon the need for reformation of education system in adrasses in India, stating that a change in the education syllabus in religious schools in Saudi Arbia helped bring peace.
“After terror attacks in the US, we changed the syllabus to go beyond the religious point to focus on academics, including subjects such as mathematics and science†, said Dr. Saad Saeed Al Qurni, profession of Al Imam Mohd Ibn Saud Islamic University, Saud Arabia.

(Me: Being an a-religious guy, I don’t comment on religion too often but when I did write on terrorism in India, I consistently maintained that the root cause of Muslim radicalism is their spooky madrassas that drill into the heads of Muslim kids the antiquated and obscurantist philosophies that prevailed in the 7th century. Now you have heard the same thing from the horse’s mouth: a team from Saudi Arabia where the most orthodox form of Islam, that of its Wahabi sect, rules. Unfortunately for the huge majority of Indians, our ‘Indian Muslims’ will not follow suit, neither will our so-called secular but actually impotent government ask them to do it for fear of losing their votes. And we are condemned to live under radical terrorism for all time to come.
