‘Change or Perish’ or ‘Change and Perish’?

‘Change or perish!’ is an oft-repeated catchphrase. But many companies have changed and perished. Managing change is a delicate exercise, which must be handled with utmost care, patience and expertise. It is a game of trapeze or a feat of acrobats.

The Acrobatics of Change is a compelling treatise that shows that if change is managed without understanding the genetics of change and change dynamics, the chances are quite bright for, what is called, ‘changed and perished’.

To explain the acrobatics of change author uses acrobat feat as a metaphor. Managing change is like managing two opposite forces—two crossbars each swinging in opposite directions. The forces are ‘desire for stability’ and ‘desire for change’. The desire for stability is a limiting force and the desire for change is a growth process. Thus, a change maker must understand these two forces clearly as well as the dynamics involved in their interplay. About the Authors

Moid Siddiqui is the Managing Director (MD) of Intellects Biz, a firm which is highly regarded for its innovative training and consulting outlooks. He is a new- age corporate professional with interests ranging from developing human potential to scripting and directing business management films.

R H Khwaja has served as Secretary, Ministry of Mines and Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. He belongs to the 1976 batch of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS). He completed his graduation in 1974 from St Stephen’s College, Delhi. His postgraduation in history is from Aligarh Muslim University.
