Unraveling India’s Red Tape

HIMCS(Hindustan Institute of Management & Computer Studies) In association with AIMS (U P Chapter)  has initiated a series of  panel discussion to  supplement   the   skills  of business  management with  the  strengths  of  liberal  arts  through  drama  to  help  youth succeed,  lead,  and  make  a difference  throughout  their  professional  lives.

In continuation of the efforts the students have organized  a  panel  discussion (series 2) on “Unraveling India’s Red Tape”  followed  by  a  play  ‘Taj Mahal Ka Tender’, a satire on the rank, file, red tape and officialdom, on  Sunday, 7th September,  2014  at  6:00 PM, Sursadan,  Agra.

Objectives
5S is the first step towards TQM. It is also simple and a powerful performance improvement tool that outlines the five steps in creating workplace organization viz; sort, set in order, shine, standardize and sustain.
Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is announcing the third 5S Lead Assessor Course on 25-27 September 2014 at Hotel Fortune Park JP Celestial, Bengaluru.
The 5-S Lead Auditor course is designed to give you the relevant skills and knowledge to carry out audits of the 5-S Principles internally and externally. This concept also helps the organizations to build a culture of continuous improvement, while maintaining a quality management environment.
This certificate course aims to develop skills and expertise needed to audit, as well as to manage work place management system audits effectively.
The objective of this course is:
·         To build the required skills, capabilities and competencies for carrying out audits on 5S practices in an organization and evaluating the status against established benchmarks leading to award of marks / rating / grading.
·         To make the participants of this course understand clearly the concepts of  5S Workplace Management System against the backdrop of globalization and the necessity of industries to adopt 5S as the foundation of further activities leading to growth and achieving excellence.
·         The training course will also provide both technical knowledge and practical skills essential to become a competent lead assessor of 5S practice by carrying out live audits in a few companies

After completing the course the participants will be able to:

The course is planned to be highly interactive, sharing the experience gathered through regular audits and working experience in the industry. The course includes series of lectures and case studies by eminent 5S Counsellors who have successfully implemented the 5S practices in various organizations.
The course also includes factory visits to make assessment of the 5S practices and presentations by individual participants on their observations.

·         Detailed explanation on  each pillar of 5S and Implementation Steps
·         5S in Large, Medium and Small Scale Industries
·         5S in construction industries and Process Industries.
·         5S in Service organizations: viz., Hospital, Banking and Insurance, Software,  Hotel and Educational Institutions
·         Auditing Skills: Communication, Time Management, Observation, Interaction, Questioning, Physical fitness, Endurance ,Reporting and presentation 
·         Audit Preparation:  Preparation of Audit Check – list, Aid – Memoir, Preliminary  Survey, Desk Top Audit of the Manual, Site Audit schedule
·         Audit Execution: Check Points, information and details gathering, interaction with different levels of employees in the organization , evaluation of status, allotment of scores / Marks/ grading
·         Audit Summary: Preparation, briefing the organization about good points & points for improvement.
·         Report preparation  and presentation
The course will comprise lectures, Video displays, Exercises, Group Activities and Site Audits.
·         A team of experts will evaluate the participation and interaction in the class room sessions
·         Written Test: at the end of the course a written test on 5S auditing practices will be held
·         Evaluation of the site audit participation and final presentation of observations.
Obtaining the Qualifying Marks in the evaluation and written test will lead to “Certification as a 5S Lead Auditor”
For those participants who do not obtain the qualifying marks, certificate will be issued after a counselling session with one of the facilitators at a mutually convenient date after the course.
The participants who do not qualify to become eligible to receive the certificate as Lead Assessor, will be given a certificate of participation
