Background
With the advent of Industry 4.0, Digital Manufacturing has become the key technology enabler to create an Integrated manufacturing system.
Manufacturing organizations face challenges in terms of managing variability in a complex global environment and at the same time focus on operational efficiencies needs to harness complete integration of all verticals in the manufacturing domain. Digital manufacturing has the capability of seamlessly integrating between products, processes, people and infrastructure spanning across any organization.
Digital manufacturing is becoming a major element of product life-cycle management (PLM) and operational excellence. It’s the process by which companies can define and optimize manufacturing processes, manage manufacturing data, and encourage collaboration between different types of engineers by incorporating both digital and plant product definitions. Digital manufacturing presents a view of product and process design holistically, as part of the product life cycle, and allows products to be designed in a way that adjusts for process capabilities or limitations. It also helps make informed decisions about production, scheduling, quality, cost, etc. based on data derived directly from the production floor. It plays a vital role in ensuring vertical startup and right first time in any new product introduction.
Keeping the above background, CII, Chennai Zone is organizing a one day Conference on “Digital Manufacturing” scheduled on 29 July 2015 at Hotel Crowne Plaza (Formerly Park Sheraton, Adyar), Chennai.
OBJECTIVE
This Conference is to create awareness on the use of Digital Manufacturing and focus mainly on the latest and future trends of Digital Manufacturing for operational excellence. The session shall pave the way for collaborative industrial product development, exploring new markets.
