A railway station for passengers was located on the corner of William and Main streets (42.848825°N 80.500937°W) prior to the 1970s. While the railways were originally thought to be the way to ship cargo in and out of Delhi, the faster and cheaper truck convoys eventually won the day, bringing an increase of traffic volumes and smog into the community.
